Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) produces medical guides to help practitioners in the field. The contents of these guides are based on scientific data collected from MSF’s experiences, the World Health Organization (WHO), other renowned international medical institutions and medical and scientific journals.

These guides are the result of a collective effort by a group of experienced practitioners and known experts in their specialty. They are intended for non-specialized medical staff. They take into account possible basic technical environments, in terms of diagnostic equipment, as well as restricted therapeutic means. They can be used as a basis for medical staff training. They are used not only by MSF but also by other international health operators (WHO, UNICEF, etc.).
