    Indications

    • Prevention of iron and folic acid deficiency, mainly during pregnancy
    • Treatment of iron-deficiency anaemia

    Forms and strengths

    • Tablet of 185 mg ferrous fumurate or sulfate (60 mg of elemental iron) + 400 micrograms folic acid (vitamin B9)

    Dosage

    • See dosage of ferrous salts

    Remarks

    • This fixed-dose combination is not effective for the treatment of folic acid deficiency because of its low dose.
